DARA'S DOCUMENTS

Evaluations, reports and documents prepared by DARA, which provide proposals and analysis about international development and humanitarian action in different regions and situations:

Inter-Agency Real-time Evaluation of the Response to the Floods and Cyclone in Mozambique . 2007. DARA for OCHA, UNICEF.

The document provides conclusions and recommendations about the use of the cluster approach employed in Mozambique in response to the floods and Cyclone Flavio. The evaluation also provides recommendations about emergency funds, including the CERF and the Flash Appeal; the long term relationship between the response and the context; support for local institutions; and the significance of the responses provided for those affected.


Study on Private Financing of Humanitarian Action 1995-2005. DARA. November 2007.

The purpose of this report, commissioned by the Overseas Development Institute’s (ODI) Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG), was to gather quantitative data on the financial contributions of the private sector and individuals in order to grasp the importance of private funding for humanitarian aid between 1995 – 2005 and the apparent trend toward privatisation in humanitarian action.

The expanded summary of the Synthesis Report of the Tsunami Evaluation Coalition is written with the humanitarian professional in mind. It represents the TEC’s commitment to distribute its conclusions and recommendations as extensively as possible. This document describes clearly the context of the tsunami and the response to the disaster.
