Denmark occupies third place overall, with excellent performance across all pillars and second place in pillar 1, where it performs best. Like other top humanitarian donors, Denmark does particularly well in responding to humanitarian needs, second to none in providing timely funding, and in ensuring that its funding reaches forgotten emergencies. Its somewhat weaker results are concentrated in pillar 1, especially its commitment to on-going crises, funding in proportion to need and to priority sectors. In pillar 2, it does very well at strengthening local capacity to deal with crises and strengthening resilience to cope with crises. In pillar 3, Denmark shows its ability to work well with humanitarian partners, in particular, by providing longer-term funding arrangements, and by promoting the role of NGOs.
