DARA Meets with the GHD donors
HRI Consultative Process
In line with the open dialogue maintained with humanitarian actors for the creation of the Humanitarian Response Index (HRI), DARA met with representatives of the Good Humanitarian Donorship Initiative (GHD) on September 17, 2007. The meeting, which was held in Geneva, served to clarify doubts, explain the evolution of the project and exchange points of view.
Representative of donor agencies had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with Augusto López-Claros, Project Director, Laura Altinger, Project Research Director, representatives from DARA and the HRI Peer Review Committee, who provided information about the creation of the HRI. A variety of opinions were shared, contributing to the consultative process of the HRI.
The meeting was held in the United States Mission to the United Nations in Geneva and was chaired and moderated by Switzerland and the United States, who now share the chairmanship of the GHD.
The participatory methodology DARA used to create the HRI has allowed for the inclusion of the opinions and analyses of both aid beneficiaries, as well as donors. Recently, DARA presented the HRI to the ambassadors of the DAC member countries serving in Spain.
